Here at Ride Bicycles we are very excited to announce the arrival of the Torker Interurban Flat Bar.
We sell lots of Torkers. After the success of the Interurban Road we begged Torker to make a flat bar bike for all our awesome customers who want a more mountain bike feel and safer position in traffic.
Our pleading was not placed on def ears. Mike (our sales rep) at Seattle Bike Supply let the folks know in the Engineering department at Torker what we wanted and voila....flat mountain bars on an Interurban, truly a dream come true. This bike goes fast like a road bike but has a comfortable cockpit with good riding position to see your surroundings.
The steel frame sucks up the harsh street condition while allowing the use of 700x 28 tires for lighter weight wheel. We got to take a look at this bike but did not ride it yet(more to come here on the blog once we do). I am sure it will be a smooth hybrid road bike and we will sell quite a few this year and in years to come.
The Interurban comes with braze on mounts for fenders and racks so you can customize the bike to fit your commuting need (we need fender here in Seattle!) Torker does a good job again with 8 speed Shimano Claris components and solid wheels, brakes and cranks. The bike is 2 x 8 so you can climb up hill easily and go fast on the downhills and flats roads.
These should come in just under $700. as shown(pedals do come with it).
NOTE* The sizing (on the road and flat bar Interurban) is a bit different than other road bikes. a 52 is more like a 56. The bike comes in labeled sizes 44 48 50 52 54 56 cm. These translate to about 49 51 53 56 58 60 cm.
