Surly 24-Pack Rack
$155.00
If you like to ride useful bikes, racks make a lot of sense. Surly's 24-Pack Rack ups the useable cargo space on your bike, providing more real estate for more stuff: more beer, more food, more random bits from the hardware store, more whatever. It’s manufactured from cromoly tubing and uses stainless steel hardware. And it offers height adjustability, so you can keep your cargo close to the ground and stable. It has plenty of braze-ons, too, so you can customize how you secure your cargo…or just light your bike up like the space station. The 24-Pack Rack attaches to most forks that feature mid-blade and crown eyelets. It gives you a stable, rigid assembly upon which you might place your burden. No one likes a sweaty back and a sore bottom, so take your stuff out of that messenger bag and put it on the front of your bike. The 24-Pack Rack is rated to carry 30lbs (13.6kg) and comes in black or silver.
Surly 8-Pack Rack
$130.00
Most of you don’t need the cargo capacity to land a helicopter on your rack. Sometimes, all you want to do is grab a sixer from the beer store on the way home, or pick up a nice bouquet of flowers. For whatever the situation dictates, Surly offers the 8-Pack Rack. Made from the same tubular cromoly steel as their front and rear touring racks, the 8-Pack Rack is a solid pedestal upon which you may rest a handlebar bag, grocery bag, minaudiere, satchel…or whatever you use to carry your bowling ball around. The 8-Pack Rack attaches to most forks with mid-blade and crown eyelets. It uses stainless steel hardware and has the characteristic durability, versatility, and repairability all Surly products are known for. The 8-Pack Rack has lots of barrel braze-ons, so you can customize your cargo tie-downs…or just bolt on as many lights as you can possibly find. Surly Mountain Frame Bag
$180.00
Surly mountain frame bags are designed specifically to fit in the main triangle of your Surly frame. Their mountain bags are now using a ladder strap system, which allows greater flexibility in how you attach the bag to your frame. The ladder straps let you customize the fit and placement of the mounting straps so if you have some weird contraption clamped to your frame tubes like a chain keeper, cable pulley or some trinket grandma gave you, you know it won't interfere with the mounting straps on the frame bag. Handmade by Revelate Designs in the U.S., these things are made of Dimension Polyant VX 42, a synthetic sailcloth. This stuff is durable, rip resistant, and tightly woven and laminated to make it highly water resistant (but not fully waterproof… Revelate advises using drybags inside if you risk riding in extended downpours or underwater). Compartment access is controlled by quality YKK brand water resistant zippers. The large main compartment has a flexible divider inside, and there's a hidden pocket too. There's also a compartment suitable for smaller items you''ll access relatively often, like your map, phone, hard boiled eggs, uncontained pudding, marbles for playing marbles, your dugout, that ring you found that makes you disappear when you put it on, or whathaveyou. Frame bags such as this are becoming more and more popular. They're light, reasonably voluminous, stable because they center weight low between your wheels and body, and they go places where racks and panniers are often troublesome, like singletrack. Surly offers them in ten sizes for many of their off-road frames. Buy the bag that matches the size of your frame based on the handy sizing chart. Note: due to the rough texture of the mounting straps, prolonged use may lead to scratched or worn paint. Those worried about keeping their frame looking pristine should immediately look for some other type of bag, or figure a way to protect their paint, such as duct tape. Or tatting a top tube doily. For example.
Surly Porteur House
$125.00
The Porteur House is made to fit Surly's 24 Pack Rack. It uses a system of eight Velcro straps to secure itself to the rack. The Porteur House bag is made from durable 1050 Nylon Canvas with polyurethane coating for protection from the elements. It uses a stiff insert in the bottom of the bag to give it shape and keep your stuff protected from wheel-spray. We also include three urethane coated, water-resistant nylon stuff sacks for an added layer of protection in each compartment; 2 front pockets and the large main compartment. The Porteur House bag has two accessory pockets on the front of the bag, each with a light loop to keep you visible and safe. Its main compartment is difficult to describe without using the word huge, and the roll-top closure keeps the rain out and your stuff in. The Porteur House also comes with a shoulder strap so you can take the bag off the bike and use it when you're at the Hallmark store shopping for your little figurines and keepsakes. If you're the kind of person who likes accessories that make your bike infinitely more useful, the Porteur House is for you. With dimensions sitting at 400x270x450mm, fully extended, this bag will be a monolithic figurehead of two-wheeled practicality perched on the front of your bike. The strap system keeps it planted to your rack, and it's more than large enough to bring home the bacon – literally – so go to the store and get some bacon.
