Tires

WTB ByWay
$53.95
WTB's most dirt-centric Road Plus tire yet, the Byway Road Plus tire delivers supple plus-size traction and smooth riding characteristics farther into the dirt. Intermediate, diamond-shaped peaks provide steadfast traction under power, while consistent and more substantial side knobs extend down the side to protect it against ill-intentioned rocks or gashes while exploring new areas. With the same overall diameter as a 700 x 30mm road tire, Road Plus provides the option for two different riding experiences with the same endurance road bike. The Byway Road Plus tire allows riders to find comfort on remote gravel roads without being slowed down on the pavement required to reach them. Usage: Road Conditions: Pavement / Mixed / Dirt - Weight: 535g - Compound: Dual DNA compound

Surly ExtraTerrestrial 29-inch Tubeless Ready
$55.00 - $60.00
When you’re out on a ride the last thing you want is to be limited by your tires in any way. Our ExtraTerrestrial Tires were designed to let you ride without limits by simply following the only tenets we have for tire design: they’re high volume and they kick ass. The ExtraTerrestrial tire was meant to serve as a heavy-duty off-road touring tire that shines on hardpack surfaces. It uses a nylon breaker in the sidewalls for cut protection, a molded pattern for anti-cut propagation, and a Kevlar cap under the tread to protect against flats. The ET Tire uses a distinctly directional tread pattern and its width yields more traction than you might expect from a tire with such little rolling resistance. The tread is low profile with a file tread in between tread blocks. The ExtraTerrestrial tire has enough width and traction for the soft stuff and won’t bog you down on smooth or hard surfaces. - Folding bead - Casing: 60 TPI
Surly ExtraTerrestrial 700c Tubeless Ready
$45.00 - $50.00

Rene Herse Cycles Antelope Hill 700 x 55
$74.00
At 55 mm wide, the Antelope Hill is the largest tire Compass Makes. Antelope Hill is the unofficial name of the last great climb on the 360 mile Oregon Outback mixed-surface ride/race. The gravel is quite loose in places, and the extra floatation of the Antelope Hill tires gives you more speed and security when the going gets really rough. Antelope Hill itself is a beautiful paved climb (photo on the left), so we designed this tire to roll as fast and grip as well as a good racing tire. With this tire, you truly have the best of both worlds. The Antelope Hill also can transform the performance of your 29er mountain bike on gravel or paved roads. However, it is not intended for truly technical terrain, and with its supple sidewalls, it will not climb out of ruts like a stiff mountain bike tire. The Antelope Hill is tubeless-compatible in both standard and extralight casings. When used with tubes, we recommend the SV19 or SV19A tubes.
Rene Herse Cycles Barlow Pass 700 x 38
$72.00
The Barlow Pass tires is named after a pass on the Mountain Loop Highway, a scenic gravel road through the central Cascades. The road leads past the ghost town of Monte Cristo before ascending the pass. On the long straights and sweeping turns of this gravel road, the extra stability of a large-wheeled bike can provide an advantage as you descend at high speed. The Barlow Pass is a great road tire for 700C bikes with moderately large clearances. The Barlow Pass is tubeless-compatible.
Rene Herse Cycles Bayshoe Pass 650b x 42
$72.00
The new Babyshoe Pass measures a true 42 mm wide on most rims. Mounted tubeless, it’s even more at home on its namesake pass high in the Cascade mountains. Babyshoe Pass (1330 m/4350 ft) runs between the great volcanoes of Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams in the Cascade Range. This long climb on a gravel road provides a “back-door” way from Seattle to Portland, which avoids the crowded Puget Lowland. As you climb out of the dense evergreen forests, the mountain vistas open up and you see glimpses of Mount Adams. For this challenging ride, you will appreciate the Babyshoe Pass TC, which rolls as fast as a racing tire on the paved lower sections of the climb, yet floats across the gravel on the higher parts. The Babyshoe Pass TC is tubeless-compatible in both standard and extralight casings.
Rene Herse Cycles Bon Jon Pass 700 x 35
$72.00
The Bon Jon Pass is the Goldilocks tire: at 700C x 35 mm, it fits bikes that have extra clearance around the Stampede Pass (32 mm), but not enough space for a Barlow Pass (38mm). Bon Jon Pass is accessed via a relatively smooth gravel road on the Olympic Peninsula. The moderate gradient allows you to let your bike fly, and these tires are perfect for surfaces like that. On pavement, the Bon Jon Pass will outcorner narrower tires thanks to its greater width and its lower pressure, both of which keep more rubber in contact with the road surface. The Bon Jon Pass will glide over chipseal where narrower or less supple tires will chatter. If your bike can fit this tire, you won’t be disappointed. The Bon Jon Pass is tubeless-compatible
Rene Herse Cycles Juniper Ridge 650b x 48
$75.00 - $90.00
The ultimate 650B dual-purpose tire is designed for adventures where you don’t know what lies ahead. It offers excellent performance and cornering on paved roads, yet its knobs dig into the surface when it gets slippery. The tread pattern is designed to increase the amount of rubber in contact with the road as you lean the bike into turns to maximize grip. We name our tires after the passes in the Cascade Mountains that have inspired them: Juniper Ridge is a rough trail on the Dark Divide in the center of the Cascade Mountains. To reach this remote destination, this tire combines ample width with ultra-fast casings and our unique tread pattern. All Rene Herse tires combine the performance of high-end tubular tires with the convenience of clinchers and the width for all-road riding. The Standard casing is a more affordable option that also offers extra protection against sidewall cuts on sharp rocks. The Extralight casing takes the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level.
Rene Herse Cycles Loup Loup 650b x 38
$72.00
The joy of a road bike without the drawbacks: The 38 mm Loup Loup Pass provides the intimate feedback that you love on a road bike, but does away with the chatter and discomfort. We name our tires after the passes in the Cascade Mountains that have inspired them: Loup Loup Pass (photo) connects the Methow Valley with the Okanagan in northern Washington State. The road across this scenic pass is paved, but the asphalt is rough and cracks have formed where the road has settled. Wide tires allow you to descend this beautiful pass with confidence.
Rene Herse Cycles Naches Pass 26 x 1.8
$72.00
The 26? Naches Pass evokes one of the less traveled routes across the Cascade Range. The 26? wheel size is ideally suited for adventure touring, because spares are available all over the world, and many touring bikes are built for that wheel size. Wouldn’t it be tempting to chart an alternative route from the Pacific to the Atlantic, traveling across Naches Pass and similar little-traveled routes? The Naches Pass is tubeless-compatible
Rene Herse Cycles Rat Trap Pass 26 x 2.3
$74.00
The Rat Trap Pass (26? x 54mm) is the ultimate Enduro Allroad tires. With its 54 mm width, it is incredibly plush, yet thanks to the smaller 26? wheel size, it handles like a good road tire. Rat Trap Pass bridges the gap between the mighty Suiattle & White Chuck Rivers while following the valley created by Crystal Creek and Straight Creek near Darrington, WA. It’s a road that is rough in places and smooth in others, so the extra volume both increases your confidence and your speed. On pavement, the grip of the Rat Trap Pass is incredible – think race car with ultra-wide tires. Experiment with your tire pressures to get the most out of the Rat Trap Pass. Too high, and it will bounce on undulating pavement. Too low, and it will collapse during enthusiastic cornering. Get it just right, and you have a tire that outcorners and outhandles almost any other tire on surfaces from smooth pavement to rough gravel. Only in soft mud will knobbies offer more traction. Whether you use this tire on a brand-new Enduro Allroad Bike or upgrade your existing 26? tandem, touring bike or mountain bike, it will be hard to go back to lesser tires once you have tried them. The nominal width of the Rat Trap Pass tires is 2.3?, but on most rims, the tires measure 52 mm (with tubes) and 54 mm (tubeless).
